Agencies from Israel and Thailand have officially been honoured as new bearers of the TINTKO Quality Seal during the ITB 2011. Their representatives have received the certificates in the mark of the Willy Scharnow-Foundation awards ceremony.

Additionally, and for the first time, special distinctions have been awarded to agencies from Georgia and Nicaragua for their merits of significantly optimizing national tour guide training in their countries.

Together with further touristic institutions TINTKO has developed a special Tour Guide and Customer Service Quality Seal for Cruises. The Seal will be launched in 2011 in the mark of a pilot project with a renowned partner operator.

The Willy Scharnow-Foundation’s traditional award ceremony again provides the worthy surrounding for the new bearers of the TINTKO Quality Seal. Representatives of five companies from South America, Asia and Europe officially will receive their certificates on March 11 in Berlin’s Congress Centre ("Saal 7", 2 pm). The incoming agencies have been awarded the Quality Seal between April 2009 and November 2009 for their excellence in providing tour guides for roundtrip tours.

All seal bearers appointed in 2006/2007 have successfully completed the follow up evaluation. The Quality Seal was awarded for another three years. The compliance with the quality standards will be checked continuously, even by unannounced or anonymous tests.

A press trip to Morocco organized by Thomas Cook, focuses on the quality of local tour guides. Johann Rosskopf, General Manager of TINTKO will accompany the six day tour to inform about the recognized high performance standard of national guides and to outline the extensive evaluation process for the Independent Tour Guide Quality Seal®.

Furthermore, upon invitation of the Moroccan National Tourist Office, the journalists will get acquainted with important future tourism projects in the North African country.

Cooperation with German TÜV intensified: TINTKO and TÜV NORD have agreed to intensify their cooperation in the field of quality inspection in the tourism sector. Besides the TÜV certification regarding service quality and customer satisfaction they will offer selective or continuous consultancy to improve the clients standing in the relevant markets. (more)
